The house was built in 1907. In 1947 Ida and Oswald von Siebenthal bought the modest boarding house which is now the Hostellerie Alpenrose. In 1961 son Fredy with wife Monika took over the hotel and since 1978 the Alpenrose has been a member of the «Relais & Châteaux» chain.

In 1989 an annexe was added. It contains 19 comfortable rooms, elegant but cosy suites with fireplace, and family apartments. An underground garage complete the present amenities.
